Every new home environment is assessed for hazards such as tripping risks, lighting, space constraints, and infection exposure. Where risks are identified, we introduce suitable controls such as equipment adjustments, PPE, or environmental modifications.

Infection control & PPE

Because homecare often involves close personal support, our staff follow strict hygiene protocols. We provide appropriate PPE, train staff in hand hygiene and safe waste disposal, and ensure all infection-control practices meet current clinical standards.

Manual handling & ergonomics

Staff receive regular training in correct body mechanics and use of lifting aids or hoists. All equipment is inspected and maintained to comply with safety requirements.

Incident reporting & investigation

All incidents or near misses — such as falls, injuries, or medication errors — are documented, investigated, and followed by corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Employee wellbeing

We recognise that fatigue and stress are safety hazards. We provide mental-health support, encourage rest breaks, and ensure fair rostering and supervision so our team can deliver care safely and confidently.

Emergency preparedness

Homecare workers are trained in emergency response procedures — including managing medical emergencies, fires, or natural disasters — and have rapid access to support and escalation protocols.

Supplier & contractor safety

Any suppliers or contractors we engage (for example, medical equipment providers or cleaners) are required to meet our safety expectations and demonstrate compliance with relevant OHS standards.
